Contest of the Week – Burt’s Bees Natural Acne Solutions 3 Step Regimen Kit
Usually products targeted to people with acne have a daunting list of chemical ingredients. Burt’s Bees stands out with their natural set of products to fight blemishes. This week, we’re giving away the Natural Acne Solutions 3 Step Regimen Kit which includes: Purifying Gel Cleanser, Daily Moisturizing Lotion, and Targeted Spot Treatment. To enter to win, just comment below with your best acne tip.
Here’s ours: Spending a lot of money on acne products with no results? Make sure that you’re cleaning all of your makeup brushes weekly and changing your foundation sponge. Drug stores sell foundation sponges by the pack, so don’t use the same sponge that came with your makeup until it runs out. Your cleanser is no good if you’re putting bacteria back on your face!
One winner will be chosen by 2/6/2013 and notified by email 2/13/2013. U.S. residents only. Odds of winning are 1 out of number of comments on this blog post.

Whitch hazel and pinning hair out of face,
I use wet green tea bags on acne to help reduce redness/swelling!
Not touching your face and for me, tea tree oil and salicylic acid
Putting a warm, damp towel on a large pimple helps with swelling! I also make sure to wash my face after I wake up and before bed. Especially before and after wearing makeup! Such simple things but they make a huge difference!
I always TRY to NOT go to bed with the “War Paint” still on my face–LOL
Try to use Clarisonic twice daily
sounds weird, but toothpaste helps!!
Healthy dieting goes a long way, your body is only as good as what you put in it
I gently clean my face with a brown sugar scrub or a glycerin soap and if I have a pimple I dab a bit of honey on it after. Honey is a natural antibacterial.
I switched to a foundation that compliments my skin and not irritates it. With that being said, I also use a great moisturizer and clean my make up brushes regularly.
Always wash your face before you lay down. It doesn’t matter if you wear makeup or not. Your face has bacteria from all the activities of the day. Also wash your pillow & pillow cases regularly, those pesky dust mites cause break outs as well.
I put white toothpaste on a zit as it’s coming up. Also, change your pillowcases often as they harbour bacteria that’s horrible for your skin!
Drink lots of water daily. Eat healthy. Make sure to wash your makeup off. These are my 3 preventions. If I do break out – don’t touch the pimples. Leave them alone.
Wash with gentle cleanser and use an oil free moisturizer
Not touching face, your hand carry tons of germs.
Avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin.
My tip is to wipe down your work phone and your cell phone with an alcohol wipe!
Be sure to change your pillow cases often.
Good point Ann!
That’s very true. Especially when you work in an environment where other people are able to use your phone.
Wash your pillow case often!
I try not to touch my face too much and my tip is to remember to wipe my phone to remove any surface germs. Also, another tip is if you have a pimple as hard a it may be, try not to touch it as your fingers carry millions of germs.
I’m obsessive about cleaning everything that touches my face – phones, fingers, etc.
Remember to take care of your hair if it tends to be on the oily side. When you have excess oils in your hair, it can transfer to your face and make your job of keeping your face clear even harder.
Atleast once a week I use rubbing alcohol on my face and it really digs out the impurities and diminishes redness. Then use a great moisturizer.

Thank you for this giveaway! Lizzy
I make sure to wash/change my pillowcase at least once a week!
My best tip to reduce acne is to use antibacterial cream on your zits.
Salicylic acid helps my acne clear the best! One of the best acne tips I can give is to never double dip in your product always use fresh cotton, q-tip, etc so you don’t spread the bacteria from your face to your product.
