Nuance Salma Hayek Texturizing Sea Salt Spray
September 30th, 2013
The texture of hair after a day at the beach is great, taking ocean water home with you in a spray bottle isn’t particularly appealing. Products like Nuance Salma Hayek Texturizing Sea Salt Spray are supposed to allow you to get beachy waves at any time. This spray has both seaweed and algae extracts and is not heavily fragranced. Thankfully, it doesn’t make your hair sticky it’s refreshing to use. You should also know that that it gives your hair a matte finish if you prefer glossy waves or curls.

Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation
September 24th, 2013
Nowadays, there are many steps to a flawless face, primer, concealer, foundation, highlighter, bronzer, setting powder…it goes on and on. CoverGirl cuts down on some of these steps with their Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation, which is a combination of primer, concealer, and foundation. As we expected, it’s a full coverage foundation. As promised it’s also long lasting. So do you still have to wear primer and concealer? It covers well enough where you can get away with not using them. But if you have very dark undereye circles, then you may want to still reach for your concealer. Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation is not drying at all (which is typical of some long wear foundations) so it’s great for dry to normal skins. Oily skin? Be sure to set with an oil-controlling powder.
Tip: For a more natural approach with concealer, put it on first, and then it will be blended when you use your foundation.

Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes
September 18th, 2013
If you have extremely oily skin, there are a lot of options to choose from. What stood out for us with Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes was that it strong without being harsh. It removes all of the oil from your skin just as well as the products with harsh chemicals, but you don’t have to worry about irritation. Of course, these towelettes contain witch hazel which is an age-old natural skincare ingredient. But it also includes aloe. When you use these towelettes your skin will feel extremely clean, and it helps fight oil for the rest of the day. If you have combination skin, only use this product on the t-zone, it will be too drying for the rest of your face. Although it’s the most gentle product of its kind that we tried, it was drying on normal skin. Also although they can remove makeup, we don’t suggest using these on the eye area. Our tester with oily skin however was pleased with the results. And since the towelettes are individually wrapped, they’re easy keep on hand to avoid looking shiny as the day goes on.

L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Serum Concentrate
September 9th, 2013
We have no idea what 2%LR2412 is, but we know that it’s the key ingredient in L’Oreal’s new Youth Code Texture Perfector, which improves skin texture, pores, and fine lines (not so much for deep wrinkles). We tried this product and thought it worked pretty well. And while we don’t think it’s ideal for very sensitive skin, it has some great features. You see results fairly quickly and it’s a great first step for flawless skin before moisturizer and foundation. If you have very dry skin, be sure to use a very emollient moisturizer over this serum.

DermaSilk® 1 Minute Collagen Lift
September 5th, 2013
DermaSilk 1 Minute Collagen Lift has the advantage of giving instant gratification. In just one minute, it’s supposed to smooth wrinkles. The good news is that did work. The bad news is that the effect is temporary. To maintain the effect, you need to reapply every 4 to 6 hours. The product itself is sticky and tacky to the touch, so we don’t recommend using it underneath foundation. We recommend this product for days when you don’t want to wear makeup but still want the look of great skin.
