Dr. LeWinn by Kinerase Lift & Resculpt Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream
February 28th, 2012
If you’re sensitive to anti-aging products with acids, you may want to try Dr. LeWinn by Kinerase Lift & Resculpt Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream. Made for all skin types, this cream works by supporting collagen production and hydrating your skin. We really liked that there is no heavy fragrance – a must for those with sensitive skin. And it’s not greasy at all! Lift & Resculpt Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream promises to lift, contour, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. After using it for awhile we did notice that our skin looked visibly plumper (this helped a lot for smile lines). However, we didn’t see the effects of lifting and contouring as much.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser
February 24th, 2012
The best thing you can do for sensitive skin is keep its barrier intact. Unfortunately, sometimes this gets damaged with all of the chemical and manual exfoliators on the market. So even if you don’t have sensitive skin naturally, you may have inflamed skin if you’re using harsh cleansers or moisturizers with acids too often. We tried Burt’s Bees Sensitive Skin Facial Cleanser and were very pleased with the results. In only one week we saw a transformation in our skin – less redness and irritation, and a lot less dryness. Since this is a very gentle cleanser, you may want to take off your makeup first with makeup removing towelettes such as Neutrogena’s. We must warn that at first this product may feel like your skin has a film on it, and that may be because you’re accustomed to your skin being stripped of its natural moisture. Try it out for at least a week to see results. We recommend this for not only people with sensitive skin, but for those who have used harsh products and want to give their skin a break. If you have acne, we recommend alternating using this cleanser and your regular acne cleanser until you get the right balance. For instance, try using Sensitive Skin Facial Cleanser in the morning and your acne wash at night. Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser is not only 99% natural, it is also fragrance free and hypo-allergenic.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
February 14th, 2012
We have a new favorite cleansing towelette brand! After seeing Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes in Allure magazine, we decided to give them a try. These towelettes truly remove ALL of your makeup effortlessly. You don’t have to make several passes to get everything off. This is not only great for when you’re too lazy to wash your face at night, it’s also great from saving your washcloths from heavy eye makeup. These cloths are soft and gentle on your skin and are actually a bit larger than Ponds Cleansing Towelettes. What we liked about Neutrogena over Ponds is that with Neutrogena there isn’t so much of a residue, so you can go without rinsing.

Emanuel Stolaroff (Neutrogena)
February 3rd, 2012
Have you ever wondered how the Neutrogena brand got started or how it got its unique name? It was actually launched by just one person, Emanuel Stolaroff, in 1930. He started a small specialty cosmetic company called Natone which was a supplier to Beauty salons associated with the film industry. By the 1940’s, Natone began manufacturing and distributing cosmetics for retail. In the 1950’s, Stolaroff became interested in a soap developed by Dr. Edmond Fromont (a Belgian cosmetic chemist) that rinsed so easily from the skin that the skin would return to its normal pH in just 11 minutes. This is where the name ‘Neutrogena’ came from. Stolaroff brought the Neutrogena brand to the United States and his company became so much associated with Neutrogena that he renamed his company to ‘Neutrogena Corporation’.
The next big thing to happen to the brand was in the 1960’s when Lloyd Cotsen (President and Stolaroff’s son-in-law) promoted Neutrogena soap to the medical profession. This gave Neutrogena a huge advantage over other co
mpanies. The company focus turned to safe, mild, premium quality skin care products. In 1973, Neutrogena went public and by 1980 it also offered hair care products.
In 1984, Stolaroff passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 84. He remained active chairman of Neutrogena until his death.
In 1994 Johnson & Johnson acquired Neutrogena for $924 million, which boosted Neutrogena sales and introduced it to markets such as India, South Africa, and China. Neutrogena products are now distributed in over 70 countries.
