Top 11 Cheapest, but Worthwhile, Beauty Tips You Should Do Everyday
Monday, May 23rd, 2011
Maintaining your beauty doesn’t have to be an expensive venture! You can look and feel great without spending loads of cash if you use these inexpensive 11 beauty tips everyday.
1. Moisturize and Protect Your Face from Sun Damage
If you only do one thing to your face each day after getting out of the shower, choose to moisturize it. Moisturizing your face is incredibly important because it nourishes your skin and can help you repair and prevent skin damage. To further protect your skin and to save money, buy a moisturizer with built-in sunscreen. A two-for-one beauty product will allow you to have all day protection from the sun, save you time by merging two beauty steps into one and save you money as you’ll only need to pay for one product instead of two separate products.
2. Get Your Beauty Sleep
Getting enough sleep might not really seem like a beauty tip that will save you cash, but it honestly can! Ensuring you get enough sleep can make you much more productive each day at work, which can lead to you making more money in the long run. In addition, by waking with more energy you won’t have to rush and will have extra time to pack your lunch, which will save you about $120 a month. Not to mention your can save time and money not having to deal with puffy or under eye circles!
3. Wear a Little Blush
Instead of paying a hefty fee for sunless tanning each month, give yourself a healthy glow with a little blush each day. Blush is fairly inexpensive but can really make an impact on your overall appearance each day.
4. Drink Enough Water
Although water is almost always free in public places and office buildings, many people choose to waste money on expensive chain coffees or bottled water. Instead of splurging on these things, bring your own filtrated water bottle and fill it up throughout the day. You won’t spend a dime and your skin and body will love you for it!
5. Trendy Accessories Can Breathe New Life into an Old Outfit
Instead of splurging on an entirely new outfit the next time you have a first date or a job interview, think about using what you already have and only buying a new accessory. Chances are, your closet is full of classic separates you can mix and match to get at least one flattering outfit from. All you need to do is spend a little cash on a new trendy accessory to turn your old outfit into something that looks and feels brand new! Think about purchasing a new scarf, statement necklace, a new hair accessory or even an inexpensive handbag to dress up your old duds.
6. Wear Mascara to Brighten Your Eyes
Much like blush, mascara is inexpensive but certainly not something to skip any day of the week. Even if you don’t like to put on a full face of makeup each day, there are certain makeup items you won’t want to pass up each day and mascara is one of them. Be sure you always sweep a little on each of your upper lids to brighten your eyes each day!
7. Exercise in Nature
Who needs an outrageously expensive gym membership when you can enjoy a brisk walk at the park for free? Not you! Instead of wasting money each month on the fancy gym fees, enjoy nature and choose to walk outdoors to get your daily exercise.
8. Exfoliate With Homemade Scrubs
Instead of shelling out $50 for a designer brand face and body scrub, you can make your own! Not only will it save you money, but it’s also a lot more fun and allows you to use all natural ingredients. There are many recipes out there, but if you want a simple scrub you can mix 8 cups of light brown sugar, 2 cups of avocado oil, ½ cup of apricot oil and a bit of honey to make a basic sugar scrub. Odds are you’ll spend less than $10 and end up with delicious looking skin. Get more homemade salt and sugar body scrub recipes…
9. Shape Your Own Eyebrows
If you’re trying to look beautiful on a tight budget, chances are you’ll have to give up little costs like brow waxing at the salon. Instead, you can easily shape, tweeze and pluck your own eyebrows. Simply use a solid pair of tweezers and follow the structure and shape your waxer typically does. If it hasn’t been too long since you’ve had them professionally done, you’ll be able to easily snag the stray hairs!
10. Bar Soap vs. Body Wash
Many soap manufacturers have been trying to get consumers to switch to body wash for many years now and for good reason. Body wash not only costs more initially, but it will also cost you more in the long run. While it may seem like a handy thing to have around, chances are you’ll use more body wash during each shower than you would of bar soap for the same shower, due to the nature of the body wash being liquid. There is a lot more room for accidental waste with body wash, which can get expensive over time. The average body wash costs $6 and lasts two week. The average bar of soap costs less than $1 and lasts four weeks. You do the math!
11. Show that Inner Beauty and Smile!
Studies show by smiling we can relieve stress, make others feel happier, lower blood pressure, improve your immune system, make you look younger and help you stay positive. So, there’s more than enough reason to do it every single day. Of course, the best part about it is, smiling is absolutely free!
