Sally Hansen Pure Scent-sation Hair Remover for Face

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

If you have unwanted facial hair, the best way to go is depilatories or waxing. Waxing can be painful and inaccurate while depilatories smell so unpleasant it’s hard to ignore. Sally Hansen’s Pure Scent-sation Hair Remover for Face is a depilatory but it’s said to be ‘virtually odor-free’. We tried it and thought that it was a great product. It’s not odor free, but we agree with the other 93% of women they surveyed who thought it was the freshest depilatory they ever used. This hair removal cream also has the perfect balance of gentleness and effectiveness. It doesn’t burn your skin but it doesn’t leave hair behind either. Pure Scent-sation Hair Remover doesn’t take all day, you only have to leave it on for 3 minutes (8 minutes max). We loved the little spatula it comes with (because who really wants depilatory on their hands?) and the pump that makes it so you control exactly what you put on the spatula. It keeps the formula fresh too. Overall, while this depilatory is not completely odor-free, it’s definitely the best smelling one out there.  Good news! If you want to try a Sally Hansen hair removal product they have a coupon for $2.00 online –

Gillette ProGlide Power Razor

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

Gillette’s ad campaign for their new ProGlide Power Razor caught our eye so we decided to give it a try. One male tester couldn’t believe how easy this was on his skin. This razor features thinner blades with a coating that makes them glide over skin. If you get razor bumps, it’s a must to have a razor that doesn’t tug and pull. Ladies, if you have very sensitive skin or are prone to irritation you may want to give this one a try. It’s extremely gentle – just keep in mind that since this is designed for delicate facial skin you won’t get as close of a shave.

NYX Slim Sparkle Eye Pencil

Tuesday, March 27th, 2012

This Spring’s fashion is definitely about bright colors, and it’s always fun to go beyond the usual black eyeliner. We tried Slim Sparkle Eye Pencil by NYX in Green Sparkle and were really surprised by the quality since it’s priced under $4. It glides on smoothly and blended well with our eyeshadow. This is probably because the formula contains coconut oil, which is also great for your skin. We love that NYX took the time to put something in their eyeliner that’s also conditioning. The green is a stand out, vibrant shade, which would look great on hazel or brown eyes. The Sparkle Eye Pencils all have glitter, which adds a fun shimmer to your look. If you’re not into sparkles then this may not be for you.

CoverGirl Blast Flipstick Lip Color

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

Since fuchsia lipstick is in style, we’ve been reviewing this great pink shade by different brands. We reviewed NYX Round Lipstick in 639 Eucalyptus, and this week we tried CoverGirl’s Blast Flipstick Lip Color in Pucker. With this lipstick, you get two colors that you can blend or wear separately. One color is fairly close to the NYX color we tried, and the other is more of a frosted pink. Priced at around $10.00, this may be a little more expensive than other lipsticks in the drugstore but you’re actually getting two lipsticks. The tube is pretty   large so they weren’t stingy with the product at all. What we thought stood out the most about this formula was its staying power. It goes on and on for the entire day and it’s very moisturizing. These are real full coverage lipsticks, so the shade you see is exactly how it appears on your lips. Frosted lipstick is a bit more challenging to wear, so our favorite side was the fuchsia shade.

Got2b Anti-Frizz Shine Serum

Friday, March 16th, 2012

Now that the weather is getting warmer, humidity is on the way. We tried Got2b’s Anti-Frizz Shine Serum to see how it did with frizz and it thought it worked pretty well. Since this product has conditioning agents, it makes it a bit different from other silicone based products. Our favorite way to use this serum was to use it to make sleek ponytails. By using it as a finishing product, it helps prevent annoying flyaways and frizz. This is a very thick product, so a little goes a long way. For a ponytail, we thought it was best to use a dime size amount, rub our hands together, and then use them to smooth the front. You’ll also want to make sure you apply evenly; you definitely don’t want globs of shine here and there! We think this product is great for those who have thick or very frizzy hair. If you consider your hair thin, Anti-Frizz Shine Serum may weigh your hair down.
