CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Mascara

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

eraseThe concept of enhancing what you already have is always appealing. So we tried CoverGirl’s Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Mascara. This line of mascara contains light reflecting metallics and a subtle tint that brings out blue, brown, hazel, and green eyes. Although we didn’t see a drastic difference as far as eye color enhancement, we really liked the formula. This mascara has a good balance between lengthening and thickening, and the brush left no clumps behind as promised.

Yves Rocher Fatigue Eraser Cleansing Cloths

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

eraseCleansing cloths are a great compromise between going to bed with makeup on like you’re not supposed to and going through with the cleanse, tone, and moisturize routine. We really liked Yves Rocher’s Fatigue Eraser Cleansing Cloths because not only did they remove our makeup completely, but they also smoothed are fine lines and parentheses. It has a ‘Botanical Anti-Aging Hormone Complex’ and we’re not sure what the exact ingredients are; but we know that it definitely works.

Yes To Cucumbers Facial Hydrating Lotion

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

eraseMost people in who have walked through any mall in the United States have probably run into sales pitches from associates at kiosks aggressively selling skincare products containing Dead Sea minerals.  These products may be overpriced, but we can’t deny the effectiveness of Dead Sea minerals on the skin. We found a more reasonably priced option at our local drugstore – Yes to Cucumbers Facial Hydrating Lotion. Not only do you get the benefit of Dead Sea minerals, you also get vitamins, proteins, and nutrients from organic green vegetables. If you have sensitive skin you’ll be happy to know that 99.6% of this spring water based lotion’s ingredients are natural, and it’s paraben free. What we loved the most about this lotion was that it was rich enough to transform our dry, dehydrated skin; but it wasn’t greasy at all. Our makeup looked smoother after using this lotion just one time. Yes to Cucumbers is a relatively new product line by Yes to Carrots. For more information, go to www.yestocarrots.com.

Bio-Oil Specialist Skincare

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

eraseMany celebrities mention that they use olive oil when asked how they have such beautiful skin. We all know that oil can have a transformative effect on skin, but how many of us are willing to put olive oil on our face? Bio-Oil Specialist Skincare is a great way to get the benefits of using oils on your skin without all of the greasiness. After about 5 minutes, your skin absorbs most of the oil, leaving you with a subtle sheen. With Vitamins A&E; calendula, lavender, and rosemary oils; we noticed the difference with the first application. This product can be used on scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone.  Unfortunately most of us suffer from at least one of those! Although the product is said to be okay for use as a day moisturizer, we preferred to use this at night as an intense treatment.

Max Factor

Friday, February 12th, 2010

eraseThe brand Max Factor was started by a makeup artist for the Russian ballet, Francis Maximilian Faktorowicz  in 1909. His son, Max Factor Jr. continued the company and popularized the terms ‘lipstick’ and ‘eyeshadow’, invented the term ‘make-up’, and helped create the first major international cosmetic business. Max’s Factor’s success came from his work on Hollywood movie sets where he worked with start such as Lana Turner, Rita Hayworth, and Marlene Dietrich. In 1928, he actually received an Oscar for making creating cosmetics that worked well with black aerase 2nd white movies. Some of Max Factor’s other innovative contributions to the industry included lip gloss in 1930, Pan-Cake Makeup in 1937, the first smear proof lipstick in 1940, and the first waterproof cosmetic in 1971. Max Factor didn’t retire until 1973 and his legacy still lives on. Max Factor developed a line of cosmetics just for color television’s needs that is still the standard for TV cosmetics today. His company was sold the year of his retirement and is currently owned by Procter and Gamble. Starting this year, Max Factor cosmetics are unavailable in the United States due to dwindling sales but are widely successful ($1.2 billion in annual sales) in other parts of the world.
