L’Oreal Studio Secrets The One Sweep Eye Shadow
Monday, May 16th, 2011
L’Oreal has taken the concept of ‘goof-proof’ to a different level with their new Studio Secrets The One Sweep Eye Shadow. If you’re not good with makeup or if you don’t have very much time in the morning this definitely works. We tried the 819 Natural for All Eyes palette and loved it. It’s very natural looking so it’s perfect for work or an interview. However, if you love a dramatic look, you may want to try their other shadow lines.

L’Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick
Friday, May 13th, 2011
Nude is the go to color for the spring in cosmetics and fashion. It’s pretty tough to find a great nude – the wrong shade can look either chalky or muddy. We thought that L’Oreal did a good job with their Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in shade 828. It’s the perfect nude color lipstick, and it although it has staying power, its conditioning vitamin E formula makes it comfortable to wear.

Magical Gro
Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Great hair starts at the roots. If you relax your hair, chances are you have both dry hair and scalp. African Pride’s Magical Gro products ensure that your scalp and hair are never dry with heavy duty moisture and herbs. Eczema and psoriasis sufferers may also appreciate these products as unfortunately these skin conditions reach the scalp. We tried a few of their Miracle Gro products as well as Olive Miracle Anti-Breakage formula and here is what we think. The good news is that African Pride will send one lucky winner ALL of these products. To enter to win, just comment below this post with how you keep your scalp healthy!
Magical Gro Rejuvenating Herbal Formula – This strengthens the hair and the scalp. It stops breakage, split ends, and dry herbs. You can actually see the herbs in the product, but you can’t see them after you put the product in your hair. This is a petroleum base product, so a little goes a long way. Try starting out with application to dry areas of your scalp and on the ends of your hair and use more as necessary.
Magical Gro Maximum Herbal Strength – This has more herbs than the Rejuvenating Herbal Formula. This is for extremely damaged hair. Again, this is petroleum based so you don’t need a lot to get results. We didn’t find it very much heavier than the rejuvenating herbal formula. If your hair is pretty brittle we recommend this one.
Magical Gro Rejuvenating Oil Formula – With this one you can’t actually see the herbs. This is more oil rich and is also for dry damaged hair. We thought this was good for making sleek pony tails.
Olive Miracle Anti-Breakage Formula – This is not a Miracle Gro product, but just the same it’s great for damaged hair. The consistency is like a body butter, and it contains olive oil, shea butter, and herbal oil extracts. This also helps with making your hair manageable. Out of all four of these products, we liked the scent of this one the most. Try putting this on your ends before blow drying to keep split ends at bay.

Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Intensive Skin Repair Serum
Monday, May 9th, 2011
Times are truly changing. Just because a product is ‘natural’ it no longer means that it is ineffective. We really liked the Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Intensive Skin Repair Serum, which is 99% natural and paraben free. You wear the serum under your moisturizer day and night. We found that it really works and saw results the morning after the first use! What we liked the most is that we got maximum anti-age benefits, but there was no greasiness. It made our skin smooth and supple and it was a big help with smile lines. So what’s in it? Yes to Blueberries contains organic cotton thistle (helps your skin create collagen), and antioxidants – blueberries, black currant, and apple. However, the scent smells purely of blueberries. A portion of all Yes To products go toward the Yes to Seed Fund, which encourages children to connect with their environment.

Olive Miracle Line
Friday, May 6th, 2011
If you have very dry, relaxed, or color-treated hair you’ll be happy to know that African Pride’s latest product line, Olive Miracle, is made just for you. Every product is infused with extra virgin olive oil to help stop breakage, split-ends, and dryness. We tried a few of their products and here is what we think. The good news is that African Pride will send one lucky winner ALL of these products. To enter to win, just comment below this post with how you keep your mane healthy.
Miracle Sheen – This is an oil sheen that moisturizes and conditions. Our tip for using this is to spray a bit on a paddle brush and brush through your hair for even distribution before going to bed. Put on a satin bonnet and wake up with moisturized hair!
2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner – We really appreciated African Pride’s effort to simply our beauty routine. This really cleanses AND conditions, so in one step in the shower you’ve washed your hair. What we liked the most about this was its detangling quality. If you have children without the patience to have their hair washed and combed you will definitely want to try this.
Hair & Scalp Leave-In Conditioner – if your hair is really damaged, then you might want to put this leave in conditioner in after you wash your hair. You can also use it on dry hair, but we preferred the Moisturizer Lotion for dry hair. This also serves as a great protectant for hot styling tools. You’ll like this if you’re concerned with putting into much moisture and getting a greasy feel. It absorbs into your hair and it’s not very heavy.
Maximum Moisturizer Lotion – This is a lotion for your hair. Similar to your skin, use this lotion on your hair whenever it feels dry. This is a bit heavier than the leave in conditioner. If your hair is fine, we suggest just putting it on your ends. This also works well protecting your hair against guilty pleasures like using a flat iron.
Winner will be chosen by 5/12/2011 and notified by email 5/19/2011. U.S. residents only.
