Max Factor MAXeye Liner
Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Max Factor (Maximilian Faktorowicz) was one of the first movie set makeup artists in the 1920’s, and created a line of cosmetics that has flourished for over 100 years. However, MaxFactor will no longer be on U.S. store shelves starting January 2010.
To avoid the shipping costs of buying Max Factor from overseas, you should stock up now. One of our favorite must haves from Max Factor is the MAXeye Liner in shade 100 Night Club. No smoky eye is complete without a dark eyeliner, and with this one you get a true black with one stroke. This pigment rich eyeliner is also self sharpening; you don’t have to lug a sharpener around in your makeup bag. We will miss seeing Max Factor in stores in the U.S., but fortunately, it’s a top seller in countries such as the United Kingdom and Russia.

Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer
Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
In the summer’s hot weather, your oil glands go into overdrive, dissolving foundation way before you get home. To keep your foundation in place, we recommend Revlon’s Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer. Put it on after your moisturizer and before your foundation. The result is an all day flawless look. This product is great for women with oily skin as well women who want anti aging benefits. The gel primer minimizes the appearance of pores AND wrinkles. We thought our skin looked less oily than normal at the end of the day and our foundation was still intact. The fragrance is pleasant but light.

Revlon Beyond Natural Defining Eye Pencil
Monday, December 7th, 2009
Obvious makeup has no place poolside or at the beach. For women that HAVE to wear something, there is Revlon’s Beyond Natural Defining Eye Pencil. These soft pencils are very soft and easy to blend. If you’re into bronzer you’ll really like Shade 610 Brown. It’s a light bronze color that goes very well with neutral makeup

Revlon ColorStay Mineral Lipglaze
Sunday, December 6th, 2009
Everyone likes the way lipgloss looks, but it fades fast. Revlon’s first longwearing lipgloss, ColorStay Mineral Lipglaze, lasts for up to 8 hours. We tried it out and found that it didn’t wear off during the day, even after a lunch. More importantly, it didn’t strip our lips of moisture like typical long wearing formulas tend to.
The gloss stays on for so long because of its mineral complex, which seals the formula on your lips. Our favorite shade is Infinite Rose, which goes on sheer and has a nice grapefruit smell to it.

Broadway Real Life French Nail Kit
Saturday, December 5th, 2009
Not all of us really like long nails. Sometimes short and sweet is what you’re looking for. Although long nails might LOOK nice, they are sometimes cumbersome for everyday living. For those of us who like a short length, Broadway Nails has a Real Life French Nail Kit in “Real Short”.
The nails are really short, but they still have the look of a salon manicure. An added benefit is that they tend to stay on longer because of the shorter length. Application is made even easier with their patented self tab. You can use the tab to hold the nail while you’re applying the glue (anyone who’s gotten super glue on their finger will appreciate this). The glue is a little thicker than normal, so you have more time to get the nail where it should be.
All in all, although this product won’t last as long as acrylic nails, it’s an easy quick fix for when you can’t make it to the salon, or if you have a special event to go to.

Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser
Friday, December 4th, 2009
It sounded improbable that a vibrating machine would make a revolutionary change in facial cleansing, but after trying Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser it was amazing to see that this really works! We have no idea why the vibrating motion makes such a big difference, but the Wave really CLEANED our skin better than anything we’ve ever used. There wasn’t a trace of makeup, oil, or dirt left, making us wonder if it was still necessary to use toner.
The Wave also removes layers of dead skin. So whatever moisturizer you use afterward will work more effectively since it will go straight to live skin cells. This is also a great alternative to Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Rejuvenator Kit if your skin’s way too sensitive for microdermabrasion.
What’s convenient about the Wave is that you can also use it in the shower because it’s waterproof. This product is gentle enough for everyday use, but if you’re skin is sensitive to salicylic acid you may want to use the Wave every other day instead

Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Trio
Thursday, December 3rd, 2009
Maybelline tends to always stay current on color trends. Their Ivy League trio of shadow is right on time with summer green shades. The light shade goes on the lid, the medium shade in the crease, and the light color for the brow bone or the inner corner of the eye. Instructions are printed on the shadows, making work to cocktail makeup application easy.
These are colors are high in pigment, so what you see is what you get. This particular trio is not for you if you like subtle color. They also have a somewhat metallic finish that’s very flattering. Not sure what palette to get? Try the Maybelline Color Advisor at http://www.maybelline.com/mca/index.aspx to see the best colors for you.
