Rimmel London Glam Eye Shadow Trio

Monday, May 28th, 2012

If you have brown or hazel eyes this one is for you! We tried Rimmel London’s Glam Eye Shadow Trio in Tempting and loved how exotic it made our eyes look. This formula is highly blendable, a.k.a. hard to mess up! The pigments are true to the palette as well, so you don’t have to use a bunch of eyeshadow to get the look you want. This is a great selection of greens, we can’t wait to try their other palettes.
Tip: For a more professional look, use an eyeshadow brush to apply instead of the sponge applicator that comes with the Eye Shadow Trio.

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor

Thursday, May 24th, 2012

Since Gillette is the leading brand for women’s razors, it’s always interesting to see what they’re going to come up with. We tried their Venus & Olay Razor and thought it was fantastic. It has 2 large Olay moisture bars that lather so you can go without shaving cream, although we still preferred using it with shaving cream. At first, it felt strange to use with the big bars, but you get a very close shave with the 5 blades. It may seem that 5 blades is overkill, but it actually helps make your razor last longer. Gillette recommends you use the razor until the bars wear down or the blades feel dull. We found that you can use the same razor for weeks before the bars wear down!

Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunblock Spray

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

Neutrogena Wet Skin differs from other spray-on sunscreen in that it is specifically designed to be applied to wet skin.  This sunblock is great for days at the pool or the beach. We loved how easily the sunscreen went on when our skin was wet and it was great for reapplying during days on the water. We did find that the sunscreen felt sticky when we applied first thing before our skin was wet. It’s a great sunscreen and is available in lotion, which is less sticky just like all sunscreen brands. This sunblock costs about the same as most drug store sunscreens at about $7.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

Monday, May 21st, 2012

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, by Galderma Laboratories, was specially formulated for people with sensitive and dry skin. This cream particularly benefits people with eczema and psoriasis, but is also great for anyone with dry skin.  We loved how well it moisturized our hands, feet and elbows. The cream doesn’t feel greasy or oily at all and is fragrance free (which is awesome for sensitive skin). The cream is a little pricey when compared to other lotions at about $12 for a 16 oz. tub, but its quality helps make up for the price.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is different from other anti-aging creams in that it promises not only to diminish wrinkles, but also to tighten. This cream is said to firm sagging prone areas, smooth skin’s surface, and restore elasticity. We tried it and loved how luxurious the cream felt (which isn’t greasy at all). We thought the fragrance was a bit strong, but it’s also available fragrance-free. We found that it did all that it promised without getting in the way of our makeup. It’s a wonderful moisturizer and gives the skin a more youthful look. Of course, there’s no drastic ‘lift’, but it’s our belief that radical changes mostly come from a doctor’s visits. This is more expensive than many drug store moisturizers since it’s over $20, but the quality is comparable to department store brands.
