Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
Thursday, June 23rd, 2011
Argan Oil might sound like a volume killer but we found that it’s really not after using Renewing Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner by Organix. It really softens your hair and gives great moisture. We also liked that as with other Organix shampoos and conditioners, the Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner are free of sulfates and parabens. If you have damaged or color-treated hair these are perfect products. We especially liked that when we blow dried our hair we didn’t get that much frizz since our hair was already moisturized. We only wish that the conditioner did more for detangling.

Crème of Nature Argan Oil Replenishing Sheen Spray
Monday, June 20th, 2011
Since
we liked the Crème of Nature Argan Oil Foaming Wrap Lotion we also tried more products in the Crème of N
ature Argan Oil line. When you think of oil sheen you usually think of a very heavy, greasy product. However, the Replenishing Sheen Spray is unique because it doesn’t weigh the hair down as much as we expected. It gives serious moisture but the formula is absorbed in your hair within about ten minutes, so you don’t get a greasy look. The Replenishing Sheen Spray is also great for dry scalp. You can just spray your scalp evenly after washing your hair to keep it from getting too dry. If you have fine hair or want to address frizz, you may want to try their Gloss & Shine Mist instead. For hair that’s in pretty good shape and not too dry, we suggest just using either product on the ends only since they tend to get pretty abused with heat styling!

Kiss Everlasting French Better than Salon Nails
Monday, June 13th, 2011
While press on nails are never going to stick to nails the way acrylics do, Kiss has certainly come close. We tried their Everlasting French Better Than Salon nail kit and were really impressed by the quality. It really looked like a salon job, replete with fun designs on each nail. This product claims to last for seven days and we got 8 days of wear with only one nail coming off. Fortunately, they give 28 nails in each kit so we easily replaced the nail. This is a great product for special occasions. Going to the salon to get fills for acrylic nails on a consistent basis can get expensive and time consuming. Just putting on the Kiss nails seems more practical. The downside is if you keep the nails on for longer than 7 days they don’t look as great as when you first apply them. Crème of Nature Argan Oil Foaming Wrap Lotion
Monday, June 6th, 2011
It seems like almost every hair care line is coming out with products containing Moroccan argan oil. The latest one we tried is Crème of Nature’s Argan Oil Foaming Wrap Lotion. If you’ve ever tried any product like this you know that they often leave your hair dry, sticky, hard, or all three. We used this product to wet set our hair and loved the results. The curls lasted all day but we still had soft hair! If you typically use heat on your hair, this is a great way to give your hair a break. It’s more time consuming to use rollers, but the curls and texture of your hair make it worth it. You can also use this product on your hair before blow drying to hold your hair styles. We also think dispensing the product in a foam is a great idea; it makes it a lot easier to apply it evenly throughout the hair. The scent of the lotion is pleasant but not overpowering.

Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy 30 Day Smoothing Treatment
Friday, June 3rd, 2011
By now it’s easy to find salons that do Brazilian straightening treatments. However, they are expensive and can cost upwards of $150. If you’re comfortable with DIY beauty treatments, then you may want to try the Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy 30 Day Smoothing Treatment. It works by infusing keratin in your strands which removes your curl. This treatment also contains cocoa nut, avocado oils, and cocoa butter for healthier hair. It said to reduce blow-drying time by up to 75% and eliminate up to 95% of frizz and curl. Using this 30 Day Smoothing Treatment is no quick fix and is not for the impatient. First, you wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. Then after towel drying, you put the Keratin Therapy 30 Day Smoothing Treatment in your hair. You are then to blow dry your hair, then flat iron each section of hair 7-10 times to seal the keratin in the hair. The treatment is supposed to protect your hair from the heat, but since it was our first time using it we only did two passes with the flat iron (7-10 times sounds like a lot!). After 48 hours, you then wash your hair and style as normal, but you are encouraged to use sulfate and sodium chloride free shampoos and conditioners for the next 30 days. The result was noticeably more manageable and smoother hair. However, we didn’t notice a significant reduction in blow-dry time or curl. But it was certainly a help with frizz. Since our color-treated hair emerged from this chemical treatment without being damaged, we plan on trying this product again in 30 days with more flat-iron time.

Revlon Spotlight Tweezer
Tuesday, May 31st, 2011
It seemed unlikely at first, but the small LED light on the new Revlon Spotlight Tweezer made a huge difference in our tweezing experience. Be prepared to take longer with your brows, you’ll see a lot more than usual. The result is more perfect brows. The LR41 battery is included, and it’s also replaceable. This is one of those products we wish came out a long time ago!

Organix Shampoo and Conditioner – Brazilian Keratin Therapy
Monday, May 30th, 2011
If your hair is very damaged or color processed, the last thing you want to do is wash it with a shampoo that contains sulfates or sodium chorides. Organix Shampoo and Conditioner – Brazilian Keratin Therapy are not only sulfate and sodium chloride free, they are also very moisturizing. The shampoo and conditioner contain cocoa nut oil, keratin proteins (this keeps your hair frizz free), avocoado oil, and cocoa butter. We were surprised that this formula did not weigh our hair down and love that our hair was frizz free until the next washing. If you absolutely need a lot of lather to feel like you’ve gotten your hair clean, this might not be for you. The shampoo is very mild. If you’re looking for a sulfate free shampoo that lathers more, try L’Oreal Paris EverStrong Hydrate Shampoo.
