CoverGirl Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm
Saturday, January 18th, 2014
When you have dry lips it’s nice to reach for something a little more fun than Chapstick or Carmex every once in awhile. We tried CoverGirl’s Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm which moisturizes your lips and leaves behind a little bit of color. The color also has a bit of shimmer. This product isn’t quite heavy duty enough to deal with serious chapped lips, but it does the job for everyday use.
Tip: Are your lips really dry? Try making a homemade balm by combining one teaspoon each of honey and beeswax, several drops of tea tree and lavender oils, and the liquid from a Vitamin E capsule.

CoverGirl + Olay Concealer Balm
Tuesday, November 19th, 2013
The more blendable a concealer, the better. We tried CoverGirl’s concealer which contains a hydrating Olay serum. It goes on very smoothly, no dragging. It’s especially great for the eye area and has the opacity needed to cover dark circles. And since it has the Olay serum, you don’t have to worry about it settling into fine lines and wrinkles. In general, we thought it was a great buy.
Tip: Put concealer on underneath your foundation. That way you’ll have a more blended look.

Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation
Tuesday, September 24th, 2013
Nowadays, there are many steps to a flawless face, primer, concealer, foundation, highlighter, bronzer, setting powder…it goes on and on. CoverGirl cuts down on some of these steps with their Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation, which is a combination of primer, concealer, and foundation. As we expected, it’s a full coverage foundation. As promised it’s also long lasting. So do you still have to wear primer and concealer? It covers well enough where you can get away with not using them. But if you have very dark undereye circles, then you may want to still reach for your concealer. Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation is not drying at all (which is typical of some long wear foundations) so it’s great for dry to normal skins. Oily skin? Be sure to set with an oil-controlling powder.
Tip: For a more natural approach with concealer, put it on first, and then it will be blended when you use your foundation.

CoverGirl Smokyshadowblast
Monday, March 25th, 2013
‘Easy smoky eyes’ is always a plus when you’re buying eyeshadow. We tried CoverGirl’s Smokyshadowblast in bronze fire to do a smoky eye in brown and champagne hues The shadow is on a stick, which is very unique. The consistency is creamy and has a more shiny finish than a regular eye shadow. Because it’s a creamy shadow, if you have oily eyelids it may not stay (you’ll need a primer). We easily achieved a smoky look, making this product perfect if you don’t have much time to do your makeup in the morning. However, if you want your eyes to look like Drew’s in the ad, you’ll need to put in a lot more work than the simple instructions on the back of the package.
