Maybelline has created a liquid eyeliner that is actually simple to use. You can make wide or thin lines depending on what side you use. To make this product better, we thought it would be nice if there was some sort of control how much eyeliner goes on the applicator, similar to mascara. We loved the versatility of this eyeliner, but our favorite part was how well the eyeliner stayed. You can literally rub your eyes and it won’t smudge! It removes with regular makeup removing towelettes – plain soap and water isn’t enough. The eyeliner tends to come off almost like tape in one full strip.
Tip: When removing liquid eyeliner, pressing a makeup remover pad on your eyelids for even just a few seconds can make a big different!

Not having to bother to sharpen your eye pencil is always a plus, so we tried Physicians Formula Eye Definer Automatic Eye Pencil in Dark Brown. The pencil glides easily across the eyes and actually had a great amount of pigment. All you need is one pass – you don’t have to keep going over it. We really appreciated that since automatic pencils can sometimes be too waxy to really make an impactful line. However, it is not as effective as a traditional pencil on the lower lash line.

If you’re not that skilled with eyeliner, you’ll like CoverGirl’s Liquiline Blast Eyeliner. It has the intensity of a liquid liner (which can be difficult to use), and it has a smudger on one end which makes it easy to correct crooked lines. We especially liked how dark the eyeliner went on – some pencils can be very waxy and don’t leave enough pigment behind. You can do both subtle and dramatic looks with this eyeliner.
Tip: For an expertly blended smokey eye, try putting the eyeliner on first, then put on gunmetal gray eyeshadow on top.

We already tried Maybelline Volum’ Express the Colossal Mascara so we wanted to give their Falsies Mascara a try. With this product, you actually do get a dramatic, false eye-lash look. The brush is spoon shaped, which really makes a difference, and it also has fibers in it. Fibers are a main ingredient in many mascaras that truly lengthen your lashes. With the Falsies mascara, how you apply it really makes a difference. If you hold the brush spoon side against your lashes you won’t get any clumps. If you do it the other way you get clumps but it also gives more of a false lash effect. One coat of this mascara does the job, but if you want to do more than one definitely don’t let the mascara dry between coats.

This Spring’s fashion is definitely about bright colors, and it’s always fun to go beyond the usual black eyeliner. We tried Slim Sparkle Eye Pencil by NYX in Green Sparkle and were really surprised by the quality since it’s priced under $4. It glides on smoothly and blended well with our eyeshadow. This is probably because the formula contains coconut oil, which is also great for your skin. We love that NYX took the time to put something in their eyeliner that’s also conditioning. The green is a stand out, vibrant shade, which would look great on hazel or brown eyes. The Sparkle Eye Pencils all have glitter, which adds a fun shimmer to your look. If you’re not into sparkles then this may not be for you.
