Almay Intense I-Color Eyeliner
Tuesday, July 13th, 2010
Makeup is so often about concealing and hiding, we appreciate Almay’s approach, which is to enhance what you already have. Their Intense I-Color Eyeliner collection is made to make the color of your eyes really stand out. There are four shades – royal slate for brown eyes, midnight black for brown eyes, deep jade for hazel eyes, and rich mocha for green eyes. Beyond the eye color enhancers, you may just want to try these because Almay simply makes good eyeliner. Their reputation for hypoallergenic makeup is certainly a plus when it comes to eyes! But what we really liked was the built in smudger at the end of the pencil, which is gives a soft and more professional look. This kohl eyeliner is also soft so you don’t have to worry about dragging delicate eyelid skin. The only bummer is that this eyeliner is not automatic, so you’ll have to get your sharpener out every now and then. Looking to save? Almay offers printable coupons on their site! Milani Runway Eyes Fashion Shadows
Monday, March 8th, 2010
If you’re really into fun packaging, you’ll love Milani’s Runway Eyes Fashion Shadows. The unique looking palette contains 6 coordinating shadows with a pearlescent finish. They are easy to blend, and at around just $8 they are a great buy. To make your look last all day we recommend using concealer or foundation on the lids before using eyeshadow.

Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Quad Shadow
Wednesday, January 27th, 2010
Did you know that more than 90% of age-related changes to the face is cause by sun exposure? Since many of us show the most signs of age around the eye area, we were excited to see that Neutrogena has come out with an eyeshadow quad that actually has a SPF in it. Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Quad Shadows not only contain a SPF of 15, but they also have vitamins, silk, and soy to condition eyelids. These quads are color coordinated, and even come with a label over each to show you where to put each color. For an everyday look, we recommend the Sea Shell 40 Quad, which has neutral tones that would work on most skin tones.

Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Trio
Thursday, December 3rd, 2009
Maybelline tends to always stay current on color trends. Their Ivy League trio of shadow is right on time with summer green shades. The light shade goes on the lid, the medium shade in the crease, and the light color for the brow bone or the inner corner of the eye. Instructions are printed on the shadows, making work to cocktail makeup application easy.
These are colors are high in pigment, so what you see is what you get. This particular trio is not for you if you like subtle color. They also have a somewhat metallic finish that’s very flattering. Not sure what palette to get? Try the Maybelline Color Advisor at http://www.maybelline.com/mca/index.aspx to see the best colors for you.

WetnWild i-Sparkle Eyeshadow
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009
Most women want only a bit of shimmer and don’t want to end up looking like they’re glittering up for a rave. WetnWild i-Sparkle Eyeshadow has a selection of eyeshadow quartets that brighten the eyes with a subtle shimmer.
Each quartet comes with an ingenious sliding mirror that makes application a cinch and a really fun design. Our favorite shade was 141 Galatic Realm. Although the colors may look intense, they do not deposit a lot of pigment (think a step higher than sheer).

WetnWild Ultimate Expressions Eyeshadow Palette
Friday, October 16th, 2009
Quality eyeshadow has never been so affordable. We have found the perfect palette of colors for the Spring! For around $5, the WetnWild Ultimate Expressions Eyeshadow Palette has 8 long wearing eyeshadows. Fantasy Island 398 is our favorite shadow combination this season. It has vibrant hues that will match any spring wardrobe, and also includes a matte selection of brown and cream (reminiscent of the Bobbi Brown best selling shadow, Bone).
There is a generous amount of eyeshadow in this palette, and it also includes a mirror. The shades are meant to complement each other, and they are crease resistant. Try using a synthetic brush to apply the dark brown or green shadow for a soft but unique look.
