Dyeing your hair can be scary, especially if you’re not great at doing your own hair. But there’s a step in between -hair gloss. We tried John Frieda’s Colour Refreshing Gloss in for Cool Reds, which is a weekly treatment that you can use to refresh your color in between coloring. You won’t get drastic results, this is more about maintaining the color you have. We were thankful that the whole glossing process can be done while showering, no destroying your bathroom! You shampoo and then put the gloss on before conditioning. After using it we got a moderate boost in hair color, but nothing hugely noticeable. Don’t be scared of the vibrant color, it won’t show up on your hair that way at all. It’s like a dark lip balm, it never goes on as pigmented as it looks. Another benefit of using a gloss is that like dye, it coats your hair, which is great for protecting your hair from damage. If you want noticeable but temporary results, we suggest using a rinse, which is a bit stronger than a gloss.
Tip: Squeeze as much excess water as possible before applying the gloss. Remember, the more water that’s on your hair – the more you’re diluting the product.

A lot hair of products seem to have keratin now. We tried One ‘n Only Brazilian Tech Treatment with Pequi Oil. This contains keratin and pequi oil to eliminate frizz and condition hair. It’s a clear serum and you can smooth it on your hair before styling. We thought this product was amazing for softening and conditioning the hair. However, it has a pretty greasy texture so use it sparingly. Since it’s pretty heavy, we don’t recommend this for fine hair or if you have springy curls that get weighed down easily.
Tip: Frizzy hair? Do your best to not touch your hair throughout the day. The oils from your fingers only make matters worse.

Have you ever heard of the Tangle Teezer? It’s been awhile since there has been a new type of brush, so we thought this new detangling hairbrush would be more of the same. How different can a brush be? However, after we tried it we saw that it actually is different from other hair brushes and combs. From what we can see, the biggest difference is that the bristles are narrower than what you would find on a paddle brush, and they are more flexible as well. So when you go to comb your hair this hairbrush works with your hair instead of against it. The downside is that you will have to do more passes on your hair to get really big tangles. Or you’ll have to comb your hair in smaller sections to ensure all the knots are being addressed. If you have hair that’s prone to tangles, this is definitely an easy fix. A bonus is that you won’t have to use a bunch of hair products to detangle your hair. We also recommend this for kids. This hairbrush is a product of Great Britain, but you can find it at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty Supply.
Tip: A great way to prevent tangles is to always keep your hair freshly trimmed. Split ends make your hair more prone to knots.

Repairs, strengthens, softens, shines, smoothes, moisturizes, protects, and detangles – these are just some of the ten benefits that Pantente Pro-V says their Ultimate 10 BB Crème will give to your hair. Although it says crème on the packaging, it’s not as thick as you might think. It has the texture of a very lightweight lotion. So if you have fine hair you can still use it, or at least on your ends. We felt like it definitely decreased hair breakage and detangled well, but if your hair is super dry you will need something more. Also, the best way to use this product is on damp hair, it may feel a little sticky if you use a lot of it on dry hair.
Tip: If you like waves this is the perfect product! It has the perfect amount of water content so if you use it at night with a braid or bun, you’ll wake up with gorgeous waves. A perfect time saver for getting ready in the morning!

Dry Shampoo is a great way to freshen up hair and absorb extra oil. We tried Aveeno’s Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo and loved the clean scent. Seaweed Extract is what makes this dry shampoo different, and it helps with manageability. If you’re hair colored don’t worry, the formula is sulfate free. Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo is also supposed to remove excess oil to boost volume. However, we found it lacking in that area. We think the best use for this product is for giving texture and refreshing hair.
