Mustela Stretch Marks Intensive Action

Monday, November 25th, 2013

erase3Unfortunately, you don’t have to be pregnant to get stretch marks. We tried Mustela’s Stretch Marks Intensive Action Cream, which retails at about $42. Though more expensive than similar products at stores like Target and Ulta, it also comes up with studies to back up their claims. 96% of expectant mothers who used Stretch Marks Intensive Action did not develop stretch marks. The formula contains nourishing oils, peptides, alpha hydroxy acid, to name just a few of the many helpful ingredients it contains. So this goes further than simply moisturizing the skin. One tester tried it on older stretch marks and found it to be really effective. Of course they didn’t make them disappear, but there was a really impressive reduction in appearance. Another tester tried it on scars that were a bit more recent and that also gave nice results.  From what we’ve seen, it does seem believable that this cream could prevent the formation of stretch marks altogether.  Now if only they could come up with a product this effective for cellulite…

Mustela Stretch Marks Double Action

Monday, July 22nd, 2013

erase2Mustela, a brand geared toward new moms, has a product called Stretch Marks Double Action. Its whole purpose is to prevent and reduce the appearance of new and recent stretch marks. It works by supporting the elasticity of the skin, moisturizing, and enhances skin renewal. As the label suggests, we didn’t see a huge improvement on older marks but we liked the consistency and thought its biggest advantage would be in preventing stretch marks. Since this formula is made with all natural ingredients, the bland scent of this product isn’t typical of baby products you’re used to.

Tip: Worried about stretch marks? There’s no way to completely avoid them after extreme weight fluctuations, so the best beauty tip is to avoid excessive weight gain by eating well and exercising.

Mustela Dermo-Pediatrics Stelatopia Moisturizing Cream

Thursday, February 14th, 2013

erase2The winter months can be particularly difficult for those with eczema. We tried Mustela’s Stelatopia Moisturizing Cream, which is a fragrance, colorant, and paraben free moisturizer. It helps skin by restoring natural lipids and is fine to use in conjunction with eczema medication. One of our testers that suffer from eczema gave it a try and found it to be gentle and non-irritating as promised. However, it may be more appropriate to call this moisturizer a lotion instead of a cream because it’s not as thick as typical creams

Mustela Musti Eau de Soin Spray

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

There’s nothing better than a light, fresh fragrance when it’s hot outside. We tried Mustela’s Musti Eau de Soin Spray and loved the scent. It’s a great combination of fruit and floral notes, and is actually good for your skin. This is formulated to be used on babies and their linens and clothes so it’s hypoallergenic as well. It’s a very subtle scent, so if you’re comparing it to Loves Baby Soft it’s fainter. We recommend this for a unique baby shower gift or for people who complain that perfume is too ‘heavy’.
