Neutrogena® Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser

Friday, July 5th, 2013

erase3There are many cleansers designed for sensitive skin that claim they thoroughly remove dirt and makeup, but after seeing a lot of magazine mentions for Neutrogena’s Ultra Gently Daily Cleanser we  had to try it. This is one of the best cleansers we’ve tested. It’s very thorough and strikes the balance between cleansing and leaving moisture behind. We think Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser would be appropriate for any skin type. It’s a gel like cleanser that lathers well. After a week or so you see a difference – skin is calmer and healthier. And at 12 fluid oz, there’s a very generous amount to use so we love the value.

Tip: Using a lot of products with active ingredients can be irritating. If you’re using a topical acne treatment for example, it can be too much to use an acne fighting cleanser and moisturizer as well. Trying pairing this cleanser with your stronger products to give your skin a break.

Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 BB Crème

Saturday, June 29th, 2013

eraseRepairs, strengthens, softens, shines, smoothes, moisturizes, protects, and detangles  – these are just some of the ten benefits that Pantente Pro-V says their Ultimate 10 BB Crème will give to your hair.  Although it says crème on the packaging, it’s not as thick as you might think. It has the texture of a very lightweight lotion. So if you have fine hair you can still use it, or at least on your ends. We felt like it definitely decreased hair breakage and detangled well, but if your hair is super dry you will need something more. Also, the best way to use this product is on damp hair, it may feel a little sticky if you use a lot of it on dry hair.

Tip: If you like waves this is the perfect product! It has the perfect amount of water content so if you use it at night with a braid or bun, you’ll wake up with gorgeous waves. A perfect time saver for getting ready in the morning!

Carmex Healing Lotion

Thursday, June 13th, 2013

Since Carmex makes such an excellent lip balm, we expected their new healing lotion to be just as effective. We tested it on sunburned, peeling skin to really put it to the test. After exfoliating then using it, no more flaking! We found Carmex Healing Lotion to be extremely effective and worthy of being in the same product line as their lip balm. The formula contains aloe and vitamin E as well as a skin protectant (Allantoin). Since the lotion worked so well it made us question why all lotions don’t have Vitamin E and aloe. The scent is more unisex and is reminiscent of cocoa butter. If you’re into fragranced lotion you may not like the scent, but you’ll at least like how it works.

Garnier’s Ultra-Lift 2-in-1 Wrinkle Reducer

Thursday, June 6th, 2013

Women do drastic things in the everlasting quest for beauty, from getting a rhinoplasty to getting a face-lift, looking good can take some investment. For those not ready to go to a doctor and just want a little help, ingredients like hyaluronic acid, retinol, and hydroquinone are all proven to be effective for great looking skin. We recently tried Garnier’s Ultra-Lift 2-in-1 Wrinkle Reducer which contains retinol. Both a serum and a moisturizer, this product is said to bring a significant improvement in lines, wrinkles, and firmness within 2 weeks. Although Ultra-Lift 2-in-1 Wrinkle Reducer has a moisturizer, we still found the product to be a bit drying so we recommend using it with an oil such as Bio Oil if you have dry skin. We also didn’t like the product’s scent too much but it gets a high score on the important part – giving younger looking, healthy skin. Other pros were ease of absorption and its non-greasy texture. We also loved the product packaging, the helix structure of the cream looks cool, and it’s designed so you don’t miss a drop.

Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss

Monday, May 27th, 2013

laMany lip glosses seem to be the same but we tried Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss since it’s made with natural ingredients. The color goes on very sheer, so anyone can wear even their darkest shades. We found that a great use for this lip gloss is to go under any long wear lipsticks that are drying. It’s lightweight enough that you’ll feel comfortable laying underneath other products. This lip gloss is made of natural ingredients but also looks very natural in color on. We tried the evening glow shade and liked that it added color but still looked natural. Burt’s Bees lip gloss is more for moisturizing, so you can’t wear it by itself for noticeable color.
