Revlon Perfect Heat Ceramic Curling Iron
Friday, July 23rd, 2010
Curling irons have certainly come a long way. It used to be that the brand and type of curling iron you used depended on your hair type, and if you wanted a curling iron with different heat settings you would have to make an expensive trip to the beauty supply store. Revlon’s Perfect Heat Ceramic Curling Iron is relatively inexpensive at less than $10 at most stores. However, it has everything that you would look for in a curling iron. Its ceramic barrel ensures that your hair won’t be singed, and it has 30 heat settings! We loved that we had so much choice for the heat level, it’s so much better than the old school ‘High’ and “Low”. We used it in the morning and still had curls at night without using hair spray. Best of all, the curling iron heats up in 30 seconds – perfect for getting ready for work.

Revlon Pedi-Expert Shower Pedicure Kit
Thursday, July 8th, 2010
We have to admit, we were expecting to be unimpressed with Revlon’s Pedi-Expert Shower Pedicure Kit. Many exfoliating stones (both natural and synthetic) may work to eliminate dead skin, but leave your feet feeling rough. We were pleasantly surprised after using Revlon’s Pedi-Expert Shower Pedicure Kit. After one use, our feet were amazingly smooth. In the kit, you get a soft brush to exfoliate and clean your feet, a contoured stone to remove dead skin, and a cuticle pusher. The unit easily fits in your hand, and you can stack the brush on top of it (saving you valuable shower real estate). Hands down this is our favorite pedicure product we’ve tried to date.

Charles Revson
Friday, May 28th, 2010
The huge company we know as Revlon was founded in 1932 by Charles Revson and his brother Joseph as a nail polish company with $300. Charles Haskell Revson was born on October 11, 1906 in Somerville, Massachusetts. After graduating high school, Revson went to work for a dress company and then as a nail polish salesman for the Elka company with his brother Joseph. When they were told they couldn’t sell beyond their New York City territory, they quit and began their own business. Charles and Joseph Revson founded Revlon Nail Enamel Corporation with Charles Lachman, a chemist who had married into Dresden Chemical Company (a manufacturer and distributor of nail polish). The L in Revlon is for Lachman, who had no active role in the company but owned a third of the business. Revson offered opaque nail polish that completely covered the nail and more color options. Most nail polishes at that time were transparent, and only came in three shades of red. Revson used his sales skills to sell to beauty salons, and eventually made a big order to Marshall Fields in 1934. In 1939, Revlon had another huge increase in sales when lipstick that coordinated with the polish colors was introduced using the slogan “matching lips and fingertips”. Revlon sponsored the television show, The $64,000 Question in the 1950’s which also increased sales. In the 1960’s and
1970’s Revlon expanded into skin-care products, shampoo, hair spray, and perfumes. In 1973, the affordable fragrance Charlie became the best-selling fragrance worldwide. On the downside, Revson’s attempt to expand into the fashion field, shoe polish, plastic flowers, and electric razors all failed. However, Revson was a very innovative marketer. He came up with creative nail polish colors, like ‘Fatal Apple’, launched seductive advertising campaigns before they became the norm, and broke tradition in international advertising. Instead of matching the ad to the market, he introduced American style and looks to foreign countries, making a ‘Western look’ popular. Over the years Revson gave many millions of dollars to charities. He was particularly supportive of Jewish, medical, and educational causes. Upon his death almost half his estate of $100 million was used to establish a charitable foundation. Revson passed away from pancreatic cancer on August 24, 1975. Currently, Revlon and its subsidiaries, Almay, Ultima II, and Mitchum lines, sells to large masses of consumers in 175 countries. U.S.-based Revlon went public in 1996 and in 2009 had 5,600 employees.

Revlon Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Self-Adhesive Eyelashes
Monday, January 25th, 2010
Fake eyelashes are always easy to put on, until you try to make the second one look just like the first. Revlon Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Self-Adhesive Eyelashes requires no glue and almost no skill! There is a strong adhesive on the eyelashes; all you have to do is position the eyelash and press down. And because there is no glue routine, we were able to apply them in record time. The kit comes with extra self adhesive strips so you get a few wears out it. Now that we know we can put on eyelashes in just a couple of minutes, we won’t restrict wearing them to just special occasions.

Revlon Beyond Natural Defining Mascara
Sunday, December 27th, 2009
We’ve found mascara that isn’t so thick that it clumps but doesn’t have so much liquid that it smudges. We liked the Revlon Beyond Natural Defining Mascara creamy formula, because you can layer without clumping. This mascara also has a unique brush so you can actually comb through your lashes. The result is very natural looking; we suggest this product for when you’re going to be outside or for work.

Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer
Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
In the summer’s hot weather, your oil glands go into overdrive, dissolving foundation way before you get home. To keep your foundation in place, we recommend Revlon’s Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer. Put it on after your moisturizer and before your foundation. The result is an all day flawless look. This product is great for women with oily skin as well women who want anti aging benefits. The gel primer minimizes the appearance of pores AND wrinkles. We thought our skin looked less oily than normal at the end of the day and our foundation was still intact. The fragrance is pleasant but light.

Revlon Beyond Natural Defining Eye Pencil
Monday, December 7th, 2009
Obvious makeup has no place poolside or at the beach. For women that HAVE to wear something, there is Revlon’s Beyond Natural Defining Eye Pencil. These soft pencils are very soft and easy to blend. If you’re into bronzer you’ll really like Shade 610 Brown. It’s a light bronze color that goes very well with neutral makeup
