Contest of the Month – Tmart Makeup Set is sponsoring our contest of the month! They are giving away a free 168 Color Eyeshadow Palette Eyelash Liner Makeup Set to one lucky winner (see our product review below to find out more about the products). To enter to win, just comment below with your best makeup tip!

erase2We tried the 168 Color Eyeshadow Palette Eyelash Liner Makeup Set which includes:

  • One 168 Color Eyeshadow Set
  • One box of 10 Pairs of False Eyelashes
  • One Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

As you can imagine, with 168 colors, the eyeshadow has every color you can imagine. Since the packaging is sleek, it’s perfect for storage without taking up too much room. Makeup artists would probably love to keep this on hand so you have access to all the colors you might need in one palette. The eyeshadows in the palette are not pigment rich, so they have a more sheer finish. For intense color, you’ll need primer or to use the colors with water. They also blend very well.

This kit is a great value since you actually get TEN pairs of false eyelashes. The eyelashes are a nice texture and would be flattering on most, so again, this is a nice kit for makeup artists to have on hand. They did a great job varying the lengths of the eyelashes, so they’re natural looking enough to wear for a wedding. The kit does not include eyelash glue – we recommend buying black glue for best results.

Finally, the waterproof eyeliner is in a fun leopard print container. It’s a standard eyeliner and you can apply pressure to make thick lines or do a light swipe for thin lines. This is a very pigmented, truly black eyeliner. It is also a traditional liquid and does not have a gel-like consistency like some eyeliners on the market right now. You have a bit of time before it dries to correct any mistakes. After that it’s waterproof. But it’s not so waterproof that it’s difficult to wash off in the evening.

If you want to find out more about Tmart, go to their website or follow them on social media: Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

One winner will be chosen by 11/30/2013 and notified by email 12/07/2013. U.S. residents only. Odds of winning are 1 out of number of comments on this blog post. Winner will be contacted via email.

When doing makeup on yourself or someone else always keep a large clean powder puff in the palm of your hand to prevent dirt, oils, etc from getting in the face. I learned this from the amazing Robert Jones. By the way, if I win I would put all of these products to good use!!

  21. Mely says:

the best makeup is a natural makeup, which brings out your eyes

  22. rabia akhter says:

Begin with a mid-tone color beginning from the lash-line up to the crease.
Using a flat stiff eyeshadow brush, pack the color onto your brush and then apply on your lid evenly and smoothly patting on not spreading, making sure you stay in your eye boundaries.
    2. Next you will want to define your crease. Select a color that is slightly darker but is in the same family as the mid tone color.
Using more of a firmer domed shaped brush grab your color being sure you tap your brush a little before you apply to rid of any fallout then apply onto your crease going in a back and forth motion.
Your crease is what frames the lid and will make your lid more prominent.
    3. Applying a highlight color on your brow bone and inner tear duct will help bring more attention to your eyebrows which is what frames the face.
Just apply a color that is one to two shades lighter then your skin tone right under you eyebrow and directly above your crease. Apply a small amount in the inner corner of your eye where the tear duct is. This will help shape the eyes.
    Eye Shadow Tricks
More tips on applying eye shadow and other eyeshadow tricks.
    4. After all three colors are applied you want to complete the most important step by blending your colors. You want the colors to have a seamless finish. Harsh lines look tacky and unprofessional.
    5. Simply take a blending brush which is a loose fluffy domed shaped brush. Go over the areas of where the colors begin and meet each other.
Blend away the contrasts until you see the colors flow from one to the other without a defined line.
    Hope you like it <3

Less is definitely more. Wear what you feel confident in!

  59. Vivs says:

Although mascara should be replaced every 3 to 4 months, I use to replace mine much sooner just because it dries out so fast and creates undesirable results. But, there’s an easy fix for that! Run the wand under hot water until the water runs clear, and then place it back in the tube, rubbing it around. The water and heat softens the mascara liquid making it apply as if it were a brand new tube!

  60. Vivian says:

I’m always checking my eye makeup in the case that my eyeliner isn’t in it’s original place. Certain eyeliners are more prone to this, especially those that aren’t water proof, but I don’t like using waterproof makeup because it’s so darn hard to get off! I always feel like I’m ripping my lashes off in the removal process. To keep your liner behaving, sweep loose or pressed powder right under the eye liner on your bottom lid. It creates somewhat of a barrier, preventing your eyeliner from traveling downward.

  61. fran says:

Makeup is so important while undergoing Chemo.. Treat yourself to lots of new items

It blends easily and makes the skin look perfect by applying this metod we can prevent foundation from settling into fine lines and for eye makeup, Apply dry shadow to lid. Then, wet applicator, dip in same color, and draw a line close to upper lash line. You’ll get a subtle contrast of shading that’ll make you a standout 🙂

Also that when contouring your face don’t put too much concealer; it’ll make your face look cakey. Scotch-tape for cat eyed eyeliner and salon style nails!
For winged eyeliner and shadow, begin by making a small strip of scotch tape less sticky by sticking and unsticking it to the back of your hand. Once it’s to the point where it won’t irritate your skin, place it at the corner of your eye at the desired angle and apply makeup as usual. Once done, remove the tape for a nice clean edge!
Cut smaller strips of scotch tape and place in a pattern on your nails. (Be certain to leave excess hanging off or it will be tough to remove later!) Paint your nails with color, dry, and then remove the tape to reveal negative space patterns! Works great with multiple designs and layers. 🙂

  104. Jessica says:

When applying eyelashes, I use hair glue instead of the one that comes in the pack. It doesn’t burn your eyes as much if you make a mistake, and the eyelashes stick firmly in place for as long as you need them to. Also, it is dark in color so it will matches my eyeliner perfectly when it dries.
