Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Lightweight UV-Lotion

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Since our favorite moisturizer is now Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream we were eager to try another product from the same line – Moisture Rescue Lightweight UV-Lotion. Since it is agreed upon that UV rays cause the majority of skin damage and aging, we were drawn to the fact that this lotion also has an SPF of 15. Like the gel cream, this product promises to lock in moisture for 24 hours and contains grape water extract (anti-oxidant) and apple water extract (protects against moisture loss). However, although this lotion is meant to be worn during the day, we preferred to use it as a nighttime moisturizer instead. For our combination skin it was a little too greasy for day time wear but perfect for taking care of dry patches without clogging pores at night. If your skin is very dry, you might like this one better.  If you’re wondering which Garnier product to use for your skin, try their Product Advisor: http://www.garnierusa.com/_en/_us/nutritioniste/product_advisor/index.aspx#consultation

SJ Creations Ginger & Soy Creamy Hand Wash

Friday, October 1st, 2010

Dry skin? There could be many contributing factors: central heating or air, extreme hot or cold weather, smoking, caffeine, alcohol, or even poor diet. Regardless of the cause, when you have dry skin, washing your hands can just make it worse. We like SJ Creation’s Ginger & Soy Creamy Hand Wash because it leaves your hands feeling clean – not parched. And the fun part is that it has a light, pleasing fragrance. SJ Creations is a private based in California that offers high quality but affordable products. This is the first product we have tried from their line and so far we are impressed. Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream

Monday, September 27th, 2010

If you read fashion magazines you’ve probably seen many advertisements for  Garnier’s Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue line of skincare products. We tried the Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream and it’s our new favorite moisturizer. This product claims to moisturize for 24 hours despite being lightweight, and contains vitamin E and grape water extract. When you have very dry skin, your options are usually thick anti-aging creams and lotions. We found that we got more moisture from this lightweight gel than we do from our expensive anti-aging creams. Best of all, the condition of our skin gradually increased over the course of a week. The claim that the moisture lasts for 24 hours may seem extreme, but we were amazed to see this moisturizer defy dry skin even after a plane ride. Feel free to use this moisturizer with makeup, since it’s a lightweight gel it won’t interfere with your foundation. Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

When you have very dry skin sometimes a great moisturizer is not enough. To protect your skin from the beginning, try Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash. After one try our skin felt smoother and more hydrated. This may be a bit too rich for some, but you’ll love it if you have dry skin. The pleasant scent of burnt brown sugar and karate butter is surprisingly long lasting.

Tip: If you want to gently exfoliate dry skin without spending money, try combining 1 cup of full-fat plain yogurt with half a grated cucumber and 2 tablespoons of sea salt. Rub on dry skin before getting in the shower and then use your regular body wash!
