John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss

Dyeing your hair can be scary, especially if you’re not great at doing your own hair. But there’s a step in between -hair gloss. We tried John Frieda’s Colour Refreshing Gloss in for Cool Reds, which is a weekly treatment that you can use to refresh your color in between coloring. You won’t get drastic results, this is more about maintaining the color you have. We were thankful that the whole glossing process can be done while showering, no destroying your bathroom! You shampoo and then put the gloss on before conditioning. After using it we got a moderate boost in hair color, but nothing hugely noticeable. Don’t be scared of the vibrant color, it won’t show up on your hair that way at all. It’s like a dark lip balm, it never goes on as pigmented as it looks. Another benefit of using a gloss is that like dye, it coats your hair, which is great for protecting your hair from damage. If you want noticeable but temporary results, we suggest using a rinse, which is a bit stronger than a gloss.
Tip: Squeeze as much excess water as possible before applying the gloss. Remember, the more water that’s on your hair – the more you’re diluting the product.
