Even & Bright Pink Lemon and
Mandarin Orange Scrub From St. Ives

Monday, September 8th, 2014

604-731214-EvenBright-scrub-300x300The best-selling Apricot Scrub from St. Ives may always be a #1 favorite, but a new contender is right up there with the best.

WHAT IT IS:
A gentle scrub with a Vitamin C to even skin tone and an unbeatable fragrance.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 100% natural exfoliants
    (hydrated silica)
  • Pink lemon and mandarin orange, both known to be sources of vitamin C (known to help even out skin tone)
  • WHY YOU WANT IT:
The scrub contains pink lemon and mandarin orange, which are both sources of Vitamin C and are known to help even skin tone. The exfoliants are more gentle than the Apricot Scrub, but still leave skin just as even and soft. Since the scrub is more mild, you can use it often since it is not as harsh on skin as the original Apricot Scrub. It is also sulfate-free so doesn’t dry skin, oil-free as to not clog pores, as well as hypoallergenic and dermatologist-tested. Not to mention the pink lemon and mandarin orange fragrance fills your shower with an amazing aroma!

    HOW TO USE:
Moisten face with water. Dispense product onto fingertips and massage over face. Rinse off with water. Instructions on the product indicate 3-4 times per week, but the exfoliants are mild and the scrub is in our experience, gentle enough for daily use.

    Blavia Skincare – Contour Collection

    Monday, February 25th, 2013

erase3Recently, we tried the Blavia Contour Collection from the new brand Blavia Skincare. The premise behind this collection is to prevent skin aging – not just treat it. Even better, this line is for the body, which is unique since most anti-aging lines are for the face. The Contour Collection has Marine Collagen, Vitamins A, B, C, and E, and antioxidants from Green Tea and Grape Seed extracts.  This collection is called Contour as it boosts natural collagen production and strengthens the skins natural barrier, providing a healthier contour.

Contour Shower Gel: Like the other products in the Contour Collection, this gel has a light, fresh fragrance. It’s clean-rinsing and lathers very well.

Contour Scrub: If you want your moisturizer to work well, you need to get rid of dead skin cells. This scrub is for the entire body, but it’s very gentle. The exfoliating particles are mild enough where you could use it every day. This is especially great for people whose skin can’t tolerate harsh exfoliants.

Contour Moisturizer: This is a lightweight moisturizer that you will love if greasy lotions tend to bother you. We think that this moisturizer will especially be in demand during the summer, when thick lotions aren’t as necessary. However, if you have extremely dry skin this lotion may not be heavy enough for you.

After using all three products together we found that our skin felt a lot softer and healthier overall. It’s hard to tell if a product is preventing aging or not, but there have been many studies that show that antioxidants are key in preventing environmental and sun damage (the biggest contributors to aging skin).
