Unilever Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer
Thursday, May 31st, 2012
We’ve been seeing a lot of advertising for the new brand, Simple so we wanted to try it out. Simple is actually only new to the U.S. –it’s the #1 skincare range of products in the U.K. and has been there since 1960. Now Unilever owns the brand, which prides itself in being the first to create a cleansing product with no perfume or color. We tried their Hydrating Light Moisturizer, which has Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E, and glycerin. Even better is what’s missing – perfumes, dyes, and irritants. At around $10, this may seem expensive for a product with just 2 vitamins. However, the bottle is generously sized and a little goes a long way. This was excellent for our sensitive skin and seemed to work better than our more expensive moisturizers as it reduced inflammation drastically (this makes your skin appear smoother). We were truly in love with the texture of our skin after using it, it just seemed healthier! And since this is their light moisturizer, it does well in the heat or with oily skin. If you are using a lot of products to reduce the appearance of pores or to get smoother skin, you may want to try this one. We also recommend this for people who are using harsh exfoliants at night; Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer will give your skin a break during the day. We’re pretty excited about the Simple line and look forward to trying more of their products.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser
Friday, February 24th, 2012
The best thing you can do for sensitive skin is keep its barrier intact. Unfortunately, sometimes this gets damaged with all of the chemical and manual exfoliators on the market. So even if you don’t have sensitive skin naturally, you may have inflamed skin if you’re using harsh cleansers or moisturizers with acids too often. We tried Burt’s Bees Sensitive Skin Facial Cleanser and were very pleased with the results. In only one week we saw a transformation in our skin – less redness and irritation, and a lot less dryness. Since this is a very gentle cleanser, you may want to take off your makeup first with makeup removing towelettes such as Neutrogena’s. We must warn that at first this product may feel like your skin has a film on it, and that may be because you’re accustomed to your skin being stripped of its natural moisture. Try it out for at least a week to see results. We recommend this for not only people with sensitive skin, but for those who have used harsh products and want to give their skin a break. If you have acne, we recommend alternating using this cleanser and your regular acne cleanser until you get the right balance. For instance, try using Sensitive Skin Facial Cleanser in the morning and your acne wash at night. Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser is not only 99% natural, it is also fragrance free and hypo-allergenic.

L’Oreal Paris True Match Naturale Blush
Monday, November 22nd, 2010
Attention women with sensitive skin! L’Oreal Paris has a new blush, True Match Naturale that is 100% preservative free, talc-free, and fragrance free. And since it’s a mineral makeup, it’s actually good for your skin. We really liked that it came with a nice and soft blush brush which saves room in your makeup bag. We did notice that their blush shades come off way lighter than they appear in the container. So you might want to go darker than you usually do. There is also a lot of shimmer in this blush so if you like a matte finish this blush might not be for you.

CoverGirl Clean Pressed Powder (Sensitive Skin)
Monday, August 30th, 2010
Our preferred method to use pressed powder is to take a large brush and use it to set foundation and combat greasy skin. CoverGirl’s Clean Pressed Powder for Sensitive Skin really did the job. We were shine free for the entire day, and it didn’t feel heavy at all. We chose the one for Sensitive Skin because it’s fragrance free – we figure the less ingredients to irritate our skin, the better! We also like that their website can help you choose your shade http://www.covergirl.com/products/product.jsp?productId=clean_sensitive_pressed_powder so you have a pretty good idea of what you need before you go to the store.

L’Oreal Go 360 Clean
Thursday, April 1st, 2010
Sometimes you just buy something because it looks neat. We admit that’s what we did with the L’Oreal Go 360 Clean face wash. We were enticed by the small ‘scrublet’ that fits ingeniously on the side of the bottle and all of the television and print advertising. We suspected it was fluff that the scrublet would work any better than a washcloth, but the L’Oreal’s lofty claims are actually true! We found that using the L’Oreal Go 360 Clean removed every trace of makeup, and made our pores noticeably smaller. The scrublet is surprisingly soft and it’s gentle enough for everyday use. We tried the Deep Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin, but it is also available in regular Deep Facial Cleanser, Deep Exfoliating Scrub, and Deep Cream Cleanser. We’ve found that we don’t need to use a separate exfoliant when using this product on a regular basis. If you’d like to give it a try, make sure you go to www.lorealparisusa.com and get their $1 coupon for Go 360 Clean face wash.
