Seventh Generation Lavender Moisturizing Lotion
Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013
If you like natural products you’re probably already familiar with the Seventh Generation brand, which now has personal care products. We tried their Lavender Moisturizing Lotion which is 95% plant based. This lotion has a nice consistency and moisturizes well. If you apply a lot it can feel a bit heavy, but we love the idea of using a moisturizer without all the chemicals.

Unilever Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash
Tuesday, August 28th, 2012
Since we liked Simple’s Hydrating Light Moisturizer we thought we’d also try their Facial Wash. As promised, this facial wash is non-irritating and we couldn’t really detect any fragrance. Our sensitive skin seemed calmer and clearer in about 1 week. It has a pretty good lather so it cleans your skin but doesn’t strip your skin of moisture. On the other hand, if your skin is extremely dry, you might want to try a creamier cleanser. What’s great about this product is that it has few active ingredients, which lessens your chances of an allergic reaction. However, we didn’t see anywhere on the packaging that it’s paraben and phthalate free.

Nuance Salma Hayek Exfoliating Body Cleansing Scrub
Tuesday, May 8th, 2012
When we read the article on Salma Hayek in Marie’s Claire’s @Work Magazine, we just had to try her line of beauty products, Nuance Salma Hayek. The entire Nuance Salma Hayek line is exclusive to CVS and paraben free, and even better – it’s not tested on animals. We tried the Exfoliating Body Cleansing Scrub in Macademia Nut, which is not inexpensive for a drugstore brand (it’s $8.99). What surprised us is that it’s a very creamy formula, and it doesn’t actually feel like scrub. This scrub is said to work to remove dead skin cells from the macademia nut oil and the microbeads working together. If you really want to SCRUB your skin, we suggest trying this with a loofa. We really like that the scent is light and doesn’t compete with whatever perfume you wear for the day. Nuance Salma Hayek also offers products in Cosmetics, Skincare, Haircare, and Body. Bio-Oil Specialist Skincare
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010
Many celebrities mention that they use olive oil when asked how they have such beautiful skin. We all know that oil can have a transformative effect on skin, but how many of us are willing to put olive oil on our face? Bio-Oil Specialist Skincare is a great way to get the benefits of using oils on your skin without all of the greasiness. After about 5 minutes, your skin absorbs most of the oil, leaving you with a subtle sheen. With Vitamins A&E; calendula, lavender, and rosemary oils; we noticed the difference with the first application. This product can be used on scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone. Unfortunately most of us suffer from at least one of those! Although the product is said to be okay for use as a day moisturizer, we preferred to use this at night as an intense treatment.
