Vaseline Total Moisture® Spray & Go Moisturizer

Sunday, March 2nd, 2014

eraseThere are now products that have copied the concept, but when Vaseline Total Moisture Spray & Go Moisturizer first came out it seemed like the neatest product in the world. We tried this new lotion, which is sprayed on and is absorbed in seconds. Since spray on sunblocks can be sticky, we expected this to be sticky too but it actually wasn’t. Another surprise was the way it sprayed. It seemed like this lotion might be annoying to use and get the bathroom floor covered with lotion. However, this has a direct stream so you more so spray a very thick line down your legs and arms and rub it in. Another assumption that you may make about this lotion is that since it’s a spray it won’t moisturize that well. This lotion is more lightweight since it’s sprayed on, so if you’re into thick lotions you’ll find it too watery. But the good news is that it does a decent job and is about on the level of a regular lotion for normal skin. All in all, if you’re in a rush or don’t have very dry skin you’ll love this product. If you do have very dry skin, you might like this product as a touch up lotion to use throughout the day.

Tip: Did you know your skin is the largest organ of your body? Keep it healthy from the inside out by eating Vitamins B and C, eggs, milk, carrots, mango, kale, and pumpkin.

Jane Iredale Balance Antioxidant Hydration Spray

Tuesday, July 10th, 2012

Some products are worth shopping for online. We purchased Jane Iredale Hydration Spray from http://www.dermstore.com/ and liked the product as well as our shopping experience. Not only was the shipping free, but we also got 2 free beauty products to try (a full sized lip balm and a travel anti-aging serum). Getting a gift with purchase every time you shop is ingenious! But back to the product itself, we purchased Jane Iredale’s Balance Antioxidant Hydrating Spray to get rid of summer greasiness without getting dry skin. This spray has seaweed (which helps regulate oil production), green tea, and calming ingredients that nourish the skin and neutralize free radicals. The spray feels incredibly refreshing and can be used to set mineral makeup. We loved the citrusy scent and while we felt that this spray conditioned on our skin, we were disappointed that it didn’t result in a dramatic reduction in oil. So if you have very acne prone or greasy skin, you may want to look for something stronger. On the other hand, we strongly recommend this if you have sensitive skin as it’s very calming and non-irritating. We tried using it under other brands of makeup, and found that you get a much better result by using it for its intended purpose – to set mineral makeup.

Moroccan Oil Glimmer Shine Spray

Friday, August 6th, 2010

We were curious about Moroccan Oil after reading several write ups in Marie Claire and Elle. It seemed like there was always a celebrity touting the benefits of using this haircare line. The main ingredient in Moroccan Oil is argan oil, which is allegedly found only in Southwest Morocco. Its benefits? UV protection, free radical neutralizing, stronger hair, and increased elasticity. What is wonderful about Moroccan Oil is that they do not use animal ingredients or perform animal testing. Despite the hefty price tag of about $25, we tried the Moroccan Oil Glimmer Shine Spray. This spray is said to enhance highlights, prevent frizz, and give great shine. At first we were sorely disappointed with how greasy our hair looked – a little goes a long way! But by the end of the day the oil was absorbed and our hair looked healthier in general. Although it didn’t seem to do much for frizz as promised, it did an incredible job at softening our hair. We found this product to be the most useful for touching up the ends before heat styling.
